Otters Den Volunteer Positions
Thank you for your interest!

> Ongoing Staff Volunteers: assist the Program Educators with students and experience the program alongside the kids! Staff volunteers are consistent volunteers who provide safety in numbers. Requires a commitment of 1-3 days per week (see program hours below), background check and training. No on-going commitment to prepping materials or lessons- you’ll just be able to show up and enjoy.
> Staff Van Drivers: pick students up at one location in the program van when school gets out and drop them off at the designated location after the program. There will always be two adult staff in the car. Requires a commitment of 1-3 days a week (see program hours), a background check and training.
> Multilingual Volunteers: Let us know what languages you speak and how often you’d be willing to drop-in as an occasional or ongoing volunteer to work with kids. This is an especially meaningful role, as you’ll have the pleasure of helping students to connect with their world!
> Snack Fairy: you’ll purchase, prepare, and deliver healthy snacks and drinks to the program. You can be reimbursed for purchases and can be a Snack Fairy anytime without long-term commitment.
> Social Media: we’ll send you content and you’ll make short social media posts on Facebook and Instagram! We can work out frequency depending on what you’re willing to do.
> Go-Fer: you’ll opt-in to random tasks as your schedule allows that could span from using program funds to purchase kids’ outdoor gear from Goodwill to researching the best deal on outdoor sit pads.
> Fundraising: you’ll help organize events that will enable the program to continue operating this fall!
> Grants: you’ll research and write grants to help the program continue operating and providing scholarships for families.
> Guest Sharer: Do you have expertise in an area related to ecology or outdoor learning? (composting, forest ecology, gardening, birds, wildlife, foraging, culture, etc). If your expertise aligns with our curriculum, we’ll reach out to explore how you could support our program.
